1/144 GaoGaiGar with dividing driver kit unboxing.

It's been awhile since my last blog post since I've been busy with work and all. So I will try to at least post something  weekly. Anyway here's my unboxing for the 1/144 GaoGaiGar with dividing driver kit from Aoshima. It's a pretty old kit, So you can expect really old style polycaps, incorrect colors for the parts and also lose joints. One thing this kit doesn't come with are stickers. Yes this kit doesn't come with stickers, so you will have to do minor painting for the eyes and also other parts. One thing that I am quite glad with this kit is the parts seperation. Fro mthe looks of it, not much masking might be needed if you intend to do a full paint job for this. Only the lion head part, the shoulder trains and the stealth fighter for the red linings. And from the look of the box, this kit is pretty big for the 1/144, might even be big against a MG or a NG 1/100. Anyway let's look at the runners and see what we can expect.

Box is pretty big for a 1/144. Could be as big as the Kshatriya.

Fairly the maint parts of the chest, thighs, shoulders and upper arms consist in this runner. The gate placements are mediocre, so you might need a bit of work to remove them.
This yellow runner here is the one disappointment in the kit, thought I can understand it being an old kit and there's like roughly less than 10 parts for red runners but still, it would've been worth it even if they just increased the price a bit. What I am talking here is that the red parts for the gaogaigar mostly the knees, the wrist cuffs are all colored in yellow. It won't be much of a problem seeing that they are single pieces so you won't need to mask to spray it red.

Fairly straightforward leg building here. One large 2 piece snap fit with polycaps I presume.

This runner consists of the front and side skirts, the forearms for the giant turbines and an assortment of hands including the oh so awesome Heaven and Hell fists.

This runner is in bright orange and will be used to construct the dividing driver. No much painting is needed to get color accurate, The pistons are separated so you can paint them without masking.

This runner. This runner is probably one of the main reason why the box is so big. The giant B2 stealth fighter backpack. Fairly detailed for the top half of the fighter. and from the looks of it you seem to be able to change vents in there?

These polycaps are unique for aoshima kits I presume since you won't be seeing this in any bandai kit. So if you accidentally lose one of these, you a pretty much in trouble trying to find replacement.

And here are the manual pages for the kit, you probably rarely find this in sites since this kit is rare nowadays. Well I better start assembling this kit and do a review of it. See you guys in the next post.
